Product information

About Rozucor

Rozucor contains rosuvastatin, a statin. Statins lower the amount of cholesterol made by the liver and raise the amount cleared from the blood.

Rozucor is used, together with diet, to treat high cholesterol and mixed dyslipidaemia (including familial hypercholesterolaemia), and to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke and other major cardiovascular events in people at high risk.

Rozucor is used in adults, and in children aged 6 years and over for some conditions, as decided by a specialist.

How to use

Take Rozucor once a day, at any time of day, with or without food, exactly as your doctor has told you.

  1. The usual starting dose is 5 mg or 10 mg once a day. Your doctor may change the dose after 4 weeks.
  2. People of Asian origin, people over 70 and people with moderate kidney problems usually start on 5 mg.
  3. A 40 mg dose is only for severe high cholesterol at high cardiovascular risk, under specialist supervision. It is not among the Rozucor strengths.
  4. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Keep taking Rozucor even when you feel well, and follow a healthy diet.

Your doctor may check your liver with a blood test before and 3 months after you start Rozucor.
