About Max-N
Max-N contains moxifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It stops bacteria from multiplying and so clears the infection.
Max-N eye drops are used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis (infection of the outer layer of the eye) caused by bacteria that are sensitive to moxifloxacin.
Max-N is a sterile eye drop for use in the eye only, as advised by a doctor.
How to use
Use Max-N exactly as your doctor has told you, and finish the course even if the eye looks better.
- The usual dose is one drop in the affected eye three times a day, for the number of days your doctor advises.
- Wash your hands first. Tilt your head back, pull the lower eyelid down gently and put the drop in the pocket formed, then close the eye for a moment.
- If you use other eye drops or ointments, wait at least 5 minutes between each medicine. Do not let the tip of the bottle touch the eye or anything else.
- Do not wear contact lenses while you have an eye infection.
Do not swallow or inject Max-N. Throw the bottle away 28 days after first opening it.

- Stop using Max-N and tell your doctor straight away if you get a rash, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing.
- Long or repeated use can allow bacteria or fungi that are not sensitive to grow. Tell your doctor if the infection does not improve in a few days.
- Your vision may be blurred for a short while after the drop. Do not drive or use machines until it clears.
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor before using Max-N.
