About Deszo
Deszo contains desloratadine, an antihistamine that helps relieve the symptoms of allergy. It works by blocking the effects of histamine, a substance the body releases during an allergic reaction.
Deszo is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing and a runny, blocked or itchy nose, together with itchy, watery eyes. It is also used to relieve the itching and rash of urticaria (hives).
Deszo tablets are for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over. Deszo oral solution can also be used in children over 1 year of age.
How to use
Take Deszo once a day, with or without food, exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Tablets, adults and adolescents 12 years and over: one 5 mg tablet once a day.
- Oral solution, adults and adolescents 12 years and over: 10 mL (5 mg) once a day.
- Oral solution, children 6 to 11 years: 5 mL (2.5 mg) once a day.
- Oral solution, children 1 to 5 years: 2.5 mL (1.25 mg) once a day.
If your allergy symptoms come and go, your doctor may advise you to stop when they clear and start again if they return. For symptoms that last longer, treatment may continue during the period you are exposed to the allergen.
