Product information
About Crotram
Crotram contains two painkillers: tramadol and paracetamol. Tramadol is an opioid painkiller that acts on the central nervous system. Paracetamol adds to its pain-relieving effect.
Crotram is used to treat moderate to severe pain when your doctor decides that the combination of tramadol and paracetamol is needed.
Crotram is for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over. It is not recommended for children under 12.
How to use
Take Crotram exactly as your doctor has told you, at the lowest dose that relieves your pain and for no longer than needed. It can be taken with or without food.
- Adults and adolescents 12 years and over: the usual starting dose is 2 tablets. Further doses can be taken as needed, as your doctor directs.
- Leave at least 6 hours between doses.
- Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours (300 mg tramadol and 2600 mg paracetamol).
- If you have kidney or liver problems, your doctor may tell you to leave longer between doses.
Swallow the tablets whole with enough liquid. Do not stop taking Crotram suddenly after long use; your doctor may reduce the dose gradually.

- Repeated use of Crotram can lead to dependence and misuse. Stopping suddenly can cause withdrawal symptoms.
- Do not take other medicines that contain paracetamol or tramadol, including those bought without a prescription, unless your doctor tells you to.
- Taking Crotram with sedatives such as benzodiazepines, or with alcohol, can cause severe drowsiness and breathing problems. Tell your doctor about medicines for depression, as these can raise the risk of fits or serotonin syndrome.
- Crotram should not be used during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
- Crotram can cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you are affected, do not drive or use machines.
