About Agozit
Agozit contains agomelatine, an antidepressant. Agomelatine acts on melatonin receptors (MT1 and MT2) and blocks a type of serotonin receptor (5-HT2C).
Agozit is used to treat major depressive episodes in adults.
Agozit is for adults. It should not be used in people aged 75 years and over, and it is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18.
How to use
Take Agozit exactly as your doctor has told you. Take it once a day at bedtime, with or without food.
- Adults: the usual dose is one 25 mg tablet once a day at bedtime.
- If your symptoms have not improved after two weeks, your doctor may increase the dose to 50 mg (two 25 mg tablets) once a day at bedtime.
- Your doctor will check your liver with blood tests before you start and at regular times during treatment, including when the dose is increased.
You do not need to reduce the dose gradually when you stop Agozit, but always talk to your doctor before stopping.
